The closure has been scaled back to encompass the Green River Lakes Campground only.
 

Saddle Butte Fire

The fire is in a patrol status with the support from the local fire staff.

Porcupine Fire

This is a new fire start from the lightning storm passing over the Teton area on 8/28, detected on Saturday by a homeowner living in the Munger Mountain area. This small fire .10 acre is smoldering in heavy timber and has moderate potential for growth. Due to the proximity of the fire and the wildland urban interface, this fire is being fully suppressed.

Grey Hills

Several lightning strikes have been documented from the storms passing through the Teton fire area on 8/29. The Grey Hills fire is one of those strikes which had enough receptive vegetation at the base of the tree to smolder half a day before being detected by an ATV tour group riding in the area.

Flagstaff

Another human caused fire left by individuals who did not completely extinguish their campfire. Some effort was made into trying to put the fire out however, plenty of heat was still left inside the burning material. This fire had the potential to negatively impact the Hatchet businesses and Blackrock District office and homes. Anyone with information of individuals having a campfire on the FS 30200 Road, please contact 307-739-5424.

Coburn

The Coburn Fire was first reported to Teton Interagency Dispatch at 12:30 Thursday.  The fire is located 1.5 miles east of Observation Peak in the Snake River Range.  The Teton Interagency Helicopter responded with four firefighters.  Cause of the 3/4 acre fire is undetermined and under investigation.  Eight Smokejumpers from West Yellowstone were dropped on the fire to provide additional help. the fire does have fire line around the perimeter, put the steep terrain continues to allow for roll out of burning material.

 

 

Boulder Lake*

09/17  The Boulder Lake Fire was declared out yesterday after firefighters checked the fire. They gridded the aspen stand on the slope on the north side of Boulder Lake and found no heat.

08/26 10:54 am - The fire is now 100% contained and has transitioned to a Type 5 incident. The only visible smoke is in the aspen stand on the south facing slope above Boulder Lake and it poses no threat to containment lines.

AMK Fire

Smoke was reported 1/3 mile north of the AMK Research Station on the early evening of August 15, shortly after a thunderstorm had passed through the area. An engine crew responded on foot and located a lightning-ignited fire, smoldering in surface fuels on a slope to the east of Jackson Lake, on Sargents Point. The fire was suppressed on August 16 and controlled that evening at 0.1 acres.  A squad re-visited the fire on Sunday August 18th and determined that the fire was OUT.

Spring Creek

Teton Interagency Fire personnel have responded to a smoke report 2.5 miles due east of LaBarge Guard Station. Helicopter 35HX, Engine 671 and Chase 411 are taking full suppression action at this time. This fire, determined by a fire investigator, was the cause of a careless human not fully extinguishing their warming fire. news release        

Flat Creek

 

The Flat Creek fire was the result from a lightning storm passing over the Gros Venture Wilderness area in early August of this year. The fire never showed much growth or smoke. The fire experienced several high wind events and yet held tight and in place with only two days of visible smoke. Fire managers appreciated the collaboration with the local ranch and outfitters for their support in planning and preparedness.

Skull Lake

09/12 - This fire was declared out after receiving a significant amount of snow.

08/26 - Wilderness Rangers have been periodically checking on this fire. The fire is still smoldering and creeping in the duff. Low potential for spreading. Photos from 8/20; photo 1, photo 2
