Teton Interagency Fire

8/11 Update - The fire was thoroughly checked last week and declared out. The closure order has been lifted.

7/18 Update - The fire is now 100% contained. A type 5 IC has been assigned and will be checking the fire regularly for any heat.

This fire was discovered in the Upper Green/Moose Gypsum area of the Pinedale Ranger District Friday evening. Forest and County resources initially responded and two helitack were dropped off by helicopter 6HE to suppress the tenth acre fire. Cause has not yet been determined but is under investigation.

This half acre fire borders the Caribou Targhee National Forest and is located up the Mosquito Creek Drainage on the Jackson Ranger District. Interagency helicopter 35 HX has delivered 2 firefighters and will bring another 3 in to help fully suppress this fire burning in a mixture of shrub and timber. A small column of smoke might be visible from the valley floor and for those commuting over Teton Pass to and from Jackson.

Resources responded to this smoke reported in the Upper Green north of Flying A on Sunday afternoon. A Type 3 helicopter, Engine 421, and a squad from the Teton Crew off the Soda Lake fire are currently working on the fire. Fire has been contained as of Monday morning.

The Soda Lake Fire, three miles west of the national forest boundary near South Cottonwood Creek on the Big Piney Ranger District, was spotted July 27. The fire is under a full-suppression strategy.

8/5 - The fire is 100% contained and controlled and has transitioned from a Type 3 Team back to the local Forest as a Type 4. The Teton Interagency Type II IA crew along with local engines, will continue to monitor and patrol the fire area.

There is a temporary closure on the South Cottonwood Road to allow firefighters to safely engage the fire. 

Shale Creek Fire was called controlled on August 4th and is in monitor status. 

Shale Creek Fire was called out on September 10th.

Firefighters under Wyoming Type 3 Team 2 have been successful in limiting the footprint of the Shale Creek Fire ahead of forecast monsoon rainfall. A Bridger-Teton National Forest Type 4 Team will assume command on Wednesday, July 28... July 27th Final Update

E-631 from Greys River Ranger District responded to the West Fork Fire after helping support the Tuffield Fire that started the previous day. This fire is 1/10 of an acre and has been contained and controlled the same day. 

Kemmerer Ranger District, E-411 responded to a report of a fire discovered by the public in the area of Tuffield Creek. The Tuffield Fire is 1/4 acre in size on BLM land adjacent to the Kemmerer Ranger District. BLM E-1602 is taking full suppression action with the support of E-411.

This fire was reported late afternoon on Friday by a forest visitor camping along the Cliff Creek Road. Helicopter Three Eight Hotel X-Ray launched out of Pinedale and delivered two firefighters to the vicinity and picked up an additional two from East Zone Engine Six Seven One.

The Spring Creek Fire is the third fire detected today as a flight recon was being done.
