Teton Interagency Fire crews responded to the fire early this morning, estimated at 1/2-acre on Phillips Bench, near Teton Pass on the Jackson Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
Bridger-Teton North Zone fire staff, Teton County, and Caribou-Targhee Helitack crews engaged the fire and over 30 firefighters cut line to stop forward progression. A type 1 helicopter also helped with suppression efforts.
Signal Flat
Multiple resources responded to a fire on the south side of Signal Mountain on Saturday, July 26. The fire was determined to be lightning-caused and was contained at 7.8 acres. Firefighters continue to patrol the fire for hot spots burning in heavy logs and in needle litter beneath conifers.
Signal Mountain Summit Road is open. The Signal Mountain Trail will remain closed until further notice.
