Flagg

The Flagg Fire was discovered in the Teton Wilderness, near Huckleberry Ridge at 3:00pm on Tuesday July 19, 2022. Resources are suppressing the fire estimated to be 1-acre in size. The cause was a lightning strike.

Resources on scene include 3 engines from Grand Teton NP & Bridger-Teton NF, plus the Teton Interagency Type 3 Helicopter. A load of Smokejumpers have been ordered from West Yellowstone, MT, as well as a Type 2 helicopter.

Smoke is visible from major roadways in the vicinity. There are no road or trail closures in the area.

Wagon

This fire was discovered by Forest Service Law Enforcement as a bon fire in the early morning hours of July 17. Partiers in attendance were instructed to extinguish the fire but when the fire crew returned to the scene to check on the fire later that day, they found that the fire was still burning. 

Muddy

The fire was declared out on July 15.

The fire was reported Wednesday, July 13, 2022 on the Pinedale Ranger District around 4:00pm. It is 1/4 acre and located near Muddy Ridge Road southeast of Boulder, WY. Crews were successful getting a hand line around the fire. They have begun mop up operations. A squad of firefighters and a type three helicopter remain and are suppressing the fire. The cause is under investigation. There are no trail or road closures in effect for this fire. It is burning in timber and fire danger for the area remains at ‘High'.

Flat Creek

Two careless campers left a campfire burning on the morning of July 9th without constructing a rock ring or taking fire prevention measures. Please remember to always use exsisting fire rings and always drown, stir and feel for heat before you leave your campfire.  

Sheep

7/5 - Declared out on Friday 7/1.

6/29 4:45 pm - The Sheep fire (originally called the Upper Green Fire) has been cold trailed twice with no heat found. Incident commander has declared the fire contained at this time. Firefighters will continue to staff the fire monitoring for any heat or fire activity.

6/29 9 am - Firefighters from Sublette County Unified Fire responded to this fire late on 6/28. They were able to complete a containment line around the perimeter of the fire to prevent spread from creeping.

Sandy

8/11 Update - The fire was thoroughly checked last week and declared out. The closure order has been lifted.

7/18 Update - The fire is now 100% contained. A type 5 IC has been assigned and will be checking the fire regularly for any heat.

Battleship Mountain

This fire was discovered in the Upper Green/Moose Gypsum area of the Pinedale Ranger District Friday evening. Forest and County resources initially responded and two helitack were dropped off by helicopter 6HE to suppress the tenth acre fire. Cause has not yet been determined but is under investigation.
