This fire is located west of the Cliff Creek drainage north of Kerr Creek. Firefighters from Teton Interagency Helitack and East Zone engines were flown in to the fire Tuesday evening to begin suppression efforts.
This new small .10 of an acre fire is located within the Willow Creek Drainage. Another area that does not indicate lightning in the area for sometime. Due to the numerous new fires on the forest, two firefighters and a helicopter from the Caribou Targhee have flown over to assist with the suppression of this suspicious fire. The Bridger Teton National Forest is in Fire Restrictions!
Teton Interagency Helicopter Eight Six located a reported smoke between Deadman Mountain and Third Creek in the Big Piney Ranger District. Called out as of Sept. 24.
This fire was discovered and reported by hikers in the Bridger Wilderness Area. Firefighters hiked in to suppress the fire, which is located approximately six miles in from the Scab Creek Trailhead.
This 2 acre fire was called into the Blackrock Ranger Station by an outfitter in the Bear Cub Fire area. The fire is burning in a stand of timber and is spotting into the adjacent meadow and timber island. Helicopter 35X is assisting the firefighters on the ground and more information will be made available soon.
This 2 acre fire was called in from the Bear Cub Pass area within the Teton Wilderness. The fire is actively burning in timber and meadow fuel models. Helicopter 35X is on scene and will be supporting the firefighters on the ground. More information will be posted as it is made available.
9/7 5:12 pm - The fire is out and all resources are off the fire.
9:40 am - The Incident Commander declared the fire controlled early this morning when no smokes were visible within the fire perimeter. The handcrew and helicopter have been released to aid in a fire outside Jackson, WY but crews from local Forest engines continue to work the fire today.
This fire is currently under investigation. Local outfitter and hunting guides called the smoke report and location into Teton Interagency Fire Dispatch on 10/16. Soon after, Teton Interagency Fire Module responded to the area and located the 1/2 acre fire torching near the Green Mountain and McMichael Draw areas close to the South Fork of Spread Creek. The fire appears to have been smoldering for several days before detection and any information on the fire's cause can be shared to 307-739-5424
