Pack Trail

 The lightning-caused Pack Trail fire was discovered September 15, 2024 and is burning 23 miles southeast of Moran, WY. The fire is burning on both the Bridger-Teton National Forest and the Shoshone National Forest in Western Wyoming. An Incident Management Team is suppressing the fire. People within the Dubois area or Jackson Hole valley will likely continue to see smoke from this fire. 

Mosquito Creek Fire

This half acre fire borders the Caribou Targhee National Forest and is located up the Mosquito Creek Drainage on the Jackson Ranger District. Interagency helicopter 35 HX has delivered 2 firefighters and will bring another 3 in to help fully suppress this fire burning in a mixture of shrub and timber. A small column of smoke might be visible from the valley floor and for those commuting over Teton Pass to and from Jackson.

Holmes Cave Fire

This 2 acre fire was called into the Blackrock Ranger Station by an outfitter in the Bear Cub Fire area. The fire is burning in a stand of timber and is spotting into the adjacent meadow and timber island. Helicopter 35X is assisting the firefighters on the ground and more information will be made available soon.

This 2 acre fire was called in from the Bear Cub Pass area within the Teton Wilderness. The fire is actively burning in timber and meadow fuel models. Helicopter 35X is on scene and will be supporting the firefighters on the ground. More information will be posted as it is made available.
