The Horse Fire was reported by a Forest Service employee on the Big Piney Ranger District Friday June 13, 2025 burning in heavy timber and slash. This lightning caused fire is located roughly 10-miles west of Merna, WY 5 miles northeast of McDougal Gap and 2 miles west of Prospect Peak.
