Bridger-Teton National Forest Seeks Comments on Proposed Fuels Project

The Bridger-Teton National Forest, Jackson and Blackrock Ranger Districts are seeking comments on the proposed Shadow Mountain Habitat Enhancement project. This fuels treatment project would include a combination of prescribed fire and mechanical treatments at Shadow Mountain to improve wildlife habitat, increase timber stand resilience to insect and disease, and reduce wildfire risk in the Wildland Urban Interface

Kemmerer Ranger District: Kemmerer Roadside Treatments

The purpose of the Kemmerer Ranger District Roadside treatments (KRT) is to support Potential Operational Delineations (PODS) and support fire management.

Prescribed Burns

The primary objectives for these burns is to improve forage conditions for wildlife habitat, decrease fuel build-up reducing potential of high risk wildfires, and restore fire to the landscape to play a more historical and natural role in the environment.
