Teton Interagency Fire crews responded on May 13 to suppress the Spread Creek Fire. The lightning-caused fire is estimated at 257-acres and located near Sagebrush Flat in the Spread Creek Drainage, approximately 3 miles south of Highway 26/287, on the Blackrock Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest.

The fire is 100% contained as of 5/18 and transitioned to a type-4 fire organization. Resources are working on mop-up and patrol with approximately 42 personnel assigned to the fire.

The public is asked to avoid the Hatchet and Flagstaff roads and fire area so crews can continue to work safely and efficiently. Expect increased fire traffic on Highway 26/287 near the Blackrock Ranger Station and give emergency vehicles plenty of space.
