Pocket Creek
Update for the Pocket Creek Fire. 11:50 a.m. June 30, 2025. Crews from Sublette County Unified Fire, BLM, and USFS spent the weekend mopping up the Pocket Creek Fire. The around-the-clock effort controlled several flare-ups and hot spots, keeping the crews very busy. The fire that started on Friday afternoon destroyed one permanent residence and several outbuildings. The 209-acre fire is now listed as contained and will be monitored over the next several days until the fire is completely extinguished. Initial attack crews are credited with making a fast, aggressive attack using multiple ground and air resources, and stopping the spread of the fire before it could become a major incident.
Sublette County Unified Fire update 6/27 10:30 pm:"At approximately 3:35 this afternoon, crews from Sublette County Unified Fire received a report of a wildland fire in the Pocket Creek area south of Pinedale. While responding, the crews saw heavy smoke in the area and requested assistance from the Forest Service and BLM. Aircraft were also requested. Using a unified command, the firefighters were able to contain the fire and stop it from spreading. Several residents were evacuated along with livestock. 225 acres were burned, and several buildings were destroyed. As the crews are able to enter the area and get a better assessment of the situation, more information will be released."
6/27 4:30 pm - Fire resources are responding to a new start in Sublette County north of Pocket Creek near Aspen Butte and Chimney Butte Roads in Boulder, WY. The public is being asked to stay clear of the area to allow fire crews to work.
