This fire was discovered at around 7 pm on 6/25 on the Pinedale Ranger District in the Bridger Wilderness. It's located north of Fremont Lake, on the west side of Pine Creek. Helicopter 35HX responded and completed bucket work to cool the fire and slow spread. The fire is burning is steep rugged terrain. Full suppression actions are being taken. Helicopters will resume bucket work today.
A powerline-associated ignition, reported by a National Elk Refuge employee, was suppressed at 0.1 acres. The Teton Interagency Fire response included resources from Jackson Hole Fire/EMS, US Wildland Fire Service - Great Basin Unit 4, Bridger-Teton National Forest and Teton County Sheriff's Office. The fire is east of N. Elk Refuge Road, which was closed temporarily to support suppression activities. Fire was controlled on June 26.
An illegal campfire spread into adjacent ground fuels. A wildland fire crew responded and suppressed the fire at 0.1 acres. The fire was along the lake and near designated campsites. Campfires in the backcountry of Grand Teton National Park are only permitted in designated sites with fire grates.
