Fire started by downed, damaged, electrical powerline.

McCollister

The McCollister Fire started last night about 6PM when a tree fell on a power line and started a fire in grass and a small aspen stand of timber. The fire is adjacent to the unoccupied historic McCollister Ranch on Antelope Flats in Grand Teton National Park. Engine-301 and the Fire Effects crew responded to the fire.  Lower Valley Energy responded to make sure the power line was off and repair the downed line. The fire was quickly controlled. E-301 will be monitoring the fire today to make sure it is contained.

Cottonwood

The Cottonwood Fire was detected late Monday May 31st as power bumps affected the Moose/Beaver Creek area.  A downed line was reported to Teton Dispatch on the bench above the Bar BC Ranch off of the River Road access.  WY-GTP E-301 responded and quickly suppressed the fire once the line had been de-energized.
