Teton Interagency Fire

The Smokehouse Mountain Fire, located 7 miles north of Togwotee Pass, in the Teton Wilderness, was reported to Teton Dispatch on Monday at 12:30.  The Teton Interagency Helicopter  estimated size at five acres, and is burning in a small stand of timber at approximately 10,000 foot elevation.  Terrain adjacent to the fire is steep and inaccessible; the fire posses no threat at this time and is expected to have minimal.   The suppression strategy will be confine and contain the fire.  A remote camera has been placed on Angle Mountain to monitor fire activity. Aerial reconnaissance on August 26 observed no significant smokes.
