Wildfire Smoke Information
AirNow.gov
AirNow.gov provides comprehensive air quality information to help you understand current and forecasted air quality conditions across the United States. The site displays air quality levels using a color-coded Air Quality Index (AQI) scale and offers health guidance and activity recommendations based on current conditions. Use the interactive maps and "Monitors Near Me" feature to find location-specific air quality data, particularly useful for people with respiratory conditions, children, and older adults.
Fire and Smoke Map
The AirNow Fire and Smoke Map is an interactive tool that displays fine particle pollution (PM2.5) from wildfires using the official U.S. Air Quality Index (AQI). Developed in partnership between the EPA and USFS, the map combines data from thousands of permanent and temporary air quality monitors with crowdsourced sensor data to provide comprehensive coverage of smoke impacts. The map shows fire locations, smoke plume locations, and real-time particle pollution levels to help you make informed decisions and protect your health from wildfire smoke exposure.
