The Southern California Coordination Center (OSCC) website is designed to provide general fire information for the public and as a source of fire intelligence for the wildland fire community pertaining to wildland fires occurring in Southern California. Various components of the website are updated throughout the day from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (April 1 - October 30).
This website IS NOT a "real-time" website, nor is it designed to be an "incident-specific" website. Although we strive to get information to the site as quickly as we receive it, we completely rely upon the unit or team responsible for managing the fire to provide us with information. The OSCC website covers all large fires throughout Southern California and is not the "official" website for any individual fire. Fire Weather / Fire Danger Outlooks
The Predictive Services Group at the Southern California
Coordination Center utilizes the most recent data available
to produce daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal Fire Weather
/ Fire Danger Outlooks. The intent of the Outlooks are
to provide fire managers with as much detailed information
to assist them in being prepared for the forthcoming period.
Although the Group adheres to a policy of being as accurate
as possible in their Outlooks, the variability in weather
can change over a course of time causing the possibility of
mis-calculations. Therefore, use of these products is
at your discretion.
