Jordan, MT
In Eastern Montana just South of the Fort Peck Reservoir sits the community of Jordan. Originally settled in 1896, Jordan was incorporated as a town in 1951 and is the county seat of Garfield County.
Jordan is a small town with plenty of amenities from several local eateries, C-Stores, an Elementary School, parks, an outdoor pool, and a Health Clinic.
The Missouri breaks and the Fort Peck area is managed by the USFWS and the BLM and offers high grade hunting and fishing opportunities as well as many other outdoor recreation opportunities. Paleoworld Dino dig in Jordan also offers a unique experience of stepping back into the past and getting a hands on adventure, prospecting, digging and hiking through the Hells Creek formations of the area.
There are 2 fire stations in Jordan that are dispatched by Miles City Dispatch. The Jordan BLM station operated by the Eastern Montana/Dakotas District BLM and the CMR Jordan station managed by the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Although in the past they were separate fire programs this last year they combined staffing and were managed out of the BLM station.
