Western Washington NFDRS 2016 Map

The map displays the draft Fire Danger Rating Areas for the proposed Western Washington Fire Danger Operating Plan. Clicking on a polygon will display FDRA information and NFDRS2016 outputs from WIMS.

The following table provides links that lead to the current FDOPs and FDRAs and their indices that cover this area. These generally use the NFDRS 78 model. The comments portion of the table provides a general location description and identifies the proposed FDRA for that area in the WWA FDOP.

Cascade Puget North Puget Sound West slopes of the Cascades to Puget Sound from Snohomish and King County line north to Canadian border. Lower slopes proposed Lowlands FDRA aqnd upper slopes proposed Cascade FDRA in WWA FDOP.
Cascade Puget South (north of GFP) Puget Sound West slopes of the Cascades to Puget Sound from Snohomish and King County line south to Mt Rainier National Park. Lower slopes proposed Lowlands FDRA aqnd upper slopes proposed Cascade FDRA in WWA FDOP.
Olympics West Puget Sound East slopes of the Olympics to Puget Sound, extending from Strait of Juan de Fuca to Centralia. Lower slopes proposed Lowlands FDRA aqnd upper slopes proposed Olympics FDRA in WWA FDOP.
Olympics East Puget Sound West slopes of the Olympics extending from Strait of Juan de Fuca to Grey's Harbor. Lower slopes proposed Coast FDRA aqnd upper slopes proposed Olympics FDRA in WWA FDOP.
South Cascades (GFP) Columbia Cascade Encompasses most of Gifford Pinchot. Proposed Cascade FDRA in WWA FDOP.
Upper White Salmon (GFP) Columbia Cascade Not on the map above. Covers SE GPF. This will be moving to Central and NE WA FDOP in 2021 and become part of the Lower Yakima FDRA which currently uses NFDRS 2016.
