In October 2009, the Southwest Coordination Center instituted social networking into the dissemination of Information and Intelligence to the firefighting community and the general public.  We feel this technology offers a number of benefits the traditional webpage does not, including quicker updating and maintenance, allowing followers to receive information more quickly, and direct feeds to other widgets and applications. 

By creating a Twitter account and selecting to follow us, one can set up their account to receive SWCC Tweets directly to their cell phone, PDA, desktop, etc. 

At this time, not all agencies have approval to access Twitter, so the SWCC will continue to maintain both the SWCC News&Notes (Traditional Page) and the SWCC NewsNotes (Twitter page). ..
