About the Phoenix Interagency Fire Center
Mission Statement -The Phoenix Interagency Fire Center provides initial attack dispatching for incident management on federal and state protected lands on the Tonto National Forest, Phoenix District - Bureau of Land Management, San Carlos Apache Reservation, Gila River Indian Community, Ak-Chin Indian Community, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community and Ft. McDowell Indian Reservation. We provide logistical support and mobilization of resources for local and national incidents. We provide a safe, effective and efficient environment at the Phx-Mesa Gateway Air Tanker Base for the support of aerial firefighting resources. Our facility can serve as a training center for local and national fire and aviation management courses.
The Information section provides updates on current fires and fire restrictions in the area, links to national incident information, as well as fire prevention, fire ecology and living safely in the wildland urban interface.
The Predictive Services component provides the operational products regarding current and predicted conditions that influence fire behavior.
The Logistics/Dispatch component provides operational and administrative links for mobilization of resources.
The Local Information element covers fire management plans, guidelines associated with local resources and project work, decision-support systems, and other working documents.
The Administrative component is designed to provide the tools, background information and links for fire and incident operations.
