At times, serious accidents or critical incidents occur in
wildland fire operations. These critial incidents can raise stress
levels dramtically in a short period of time for emergency responders. Therefore,
the Southwest Coordinating Group (SWCG) is in the process of developing an
interagency Critical Incident Stress Management Program designed to assist
affected individuals by either providing support or other
CISM resources to deal with their situation.
