QUESTIONS:

When will a version for ArcGIS 10 be released?   After many issues, FIMT v10 is NOW released.  See below.  Please note, there are issues with compatibility with other ArcGIS versions.

Do the current FIMT tools work with ArcMap 9.3 / 9.3.1 ?   NO. Version 9.2.1.8 works with 9.2 SP3 and 9.3.x    Version 10.0.0.11 does not work on any version prior to ArcGIS v10.x.

What is the correct version to use on an incident?   For the 2011 fire season, both versions are supported, but there were issues until August 17th on the release of a version for ArcGIS 10.  Please feel free to use any version with the understanding of how it affects other parties / relieving teams.

If the tools work in v10, what issues might arise if you have users in v9.3 working on the same GeoDataBase?   The incident GeoDataBase needs to be created with the v9.3 software.  The v10 software can edit a v9.3 GDB. However, the reverse is not true.  V9.3 cannot edit / view a v10 GDB.

Does version 9.3.0.9 / 10.0.0.11 work with Vista or Windows 7?   So far, all tests appear to work on both operating systems. However, the install instructions are different. User must right click on install package and choose "Load as Administrator."

XY Domain Update

For versions 1.83, 9.0.3, 9.0.5.1 there is a file that assists in setting up the spatial domain for the geodatabase when created. Over the years, there have been a lot of new projections provided in the software. This download provides instructions and new file to update the lookup file.  Since ArcGIS 9.2 and FIMT version 9.2.0.2 the need for this file is gone due to high precision geodatabase coordinate space.
