GPC does initial attack dispatching for two National Forests, the Black Hills National Forest including the Bearlodge, Northern Hills, Mystic, and Hell Canyon Ranger Districts; and the Nebraska National Forest including the Buffalo Gap, Ft. Pierre, and Oglala National Grasslands, Samuel R. McKelvie NF, and the Bessey and Pine Ridge Ranger Districts.

GPC also dispatches for five units under the National Park Service, including Badlands, Wind Cave and Jewel Cave National Parks as well as Mount Rushmore and Devils Tower National Monuments.

Within the State of South Dakota, GPC dispatches for all private and state lands within the Black Hills Forest Fire Protection District including Custer State Park.

For the State of Wyoming GPC is responsible for initial attack for all of Crook County and the portion of Weston County within the reciprocal boundary.
