Mission of the
Unaweep Fire Use
Module (FUM) is to provide
a safe, professional, motivated, and highly
skilled interagency resource
for
wildland fire use, prescribed fire,
and wildland fire suppression
assignments.
The Unaweep FUM is a 7 person
crew based out of the Upper
Colorado River
Fire Management
Unit in Grand Junction, CO.
Crew is a national resource
and
can be dispatched to an incident anywhere in the United States,
as needed.
Fire
season for Unaweep starts in
mid-April and runs through
mid-October
and typically consists
of prescribed burning assignments
in the spring
and fall with the
majority of the module’s time being
spent on
wildland fire use incidents (WFU/AMR) during the summer
months.
