| Northern Rockies Predictive Services
is a function of the Northern Rockies Coordination Center (NRCC).
This service was created in the fall of 2001 as an enhancement
of the Intelligence Coordinator position and to supplement the
existing smoke monitoring unit. Over time, interactive collaboration
and coordination has resulted in a number of new techniques
and methodologies for identifying areas of high fire potential
at various time intervals into the future. Additionally, an
effort has been made to identify and establish an effecient
Remote Automated Weather Station (RAWS) network in order to
adequately monitor weather. |
