LARGE INCIDENT INFORMATION (Incidents Reported via the NIMS ICS-209 Program)
The following Large Fires are listed according to priority. Large incidents are defined as fires which are 100+ acres in timber or 300+ acres in grass/brush, or incidents with a Type 1 or 2 IMT assigned. New Large Incidents

JOHN DOE, West St. Joe Area Office, IDS. Full suppression management strategy. Unknown cause, located 9 miles SSW of St. Maries, ID. Type 2 Incident Management Team (Connell, IC) will inbrief at 1800 today. Heavy logging slash. Active fire behavior with running and spotting. Commercial timber threatened. Anticipated containment 08/31.

CLEAR CREEK, Flathead Agency, BIA. Full suppression management strategy. Human caused, located 2 miles N of Perma, MT. Tall grass (2.5 feet), timber (grass and understory) and brush (2 feet). Active fire behavior with running, creeping and torching. Residence and natural resources threatened. Anticipated containment 08/31.

Updated Large Incidents

COPPER KING, Lolo NF. Full suppression management strategy. Unknown cause, located 7 miles E of Thompson Falls, MT. Type 1 Incident Management Team (Poncin, IC). Timber (litter, grass and understory). Active fire behavior with group torching, uphill runs and short-range spotting. Multiple residences, BPA powerlines, Big Hole Peak Lookout, radio repeater, RAWS and a municipal watershed threatened. Evacuations, road, trail, and area closures in effect. Anticipated containment 10/31.

MAPLE, Yellowstone NP. Monitor and point zone protection management strategy. Previously reported as part of the Tatanka Complex. Lightning caused, 4 miles NNE of West Yellowstone, MT. Wildland Fire Management Team (Hutton, IC). Timber (litter and understory) and short grass (1 foot). Moderate fire behavior with torching, flanking and backing. Numerous structures, YNP west entrance, Madison Junction administrative area and two seismic monitoring stations threatened. Area and trail closures in effect. Anticipated containment 10/15.
