(Graphic) Current ERC Map
The current Energy Release Component (ERC) map is an indication of the potential "heat release" per unit area in the flaming zone for the given time frame related to the current ERC graphs. Map colors indicate "Below Normal" (green) to "Much Above Normal" (red) by Predictive Service Area. Color values are based upon comparing the current mean and standard departure of values with a climatological period, 25 years (1980-2004) in our case.
