Burnt Creek

The Burnt Creek Fire was discovered yesterday in the Teton Wilderness on the Blackrock Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. The fire is currently estimated at 20 acres. Smokejumpers responded to suppress the fire yesterday and stayed on scene overnight. A second load of jumpers were sent to the fire today. A type 2 helicopter is on loan from Yellowstone National Park to assist with operations, and the local Teton Fire crew transferred from the Escarpment Fire in Yellowstone to the Burnt Creek Fire this evening.
