This 2 acre fire was called into the Blackrock Ranger Station by an outfitter in the Bear Cub Fire area. The fire is burning in a stand of timber and is spotting into the adjacent meadow and timber island. Helicopter 35X is assisting the firefighters on the ground and more information will be made available soon. The Holmes Cave Fire Teton is located within the Teton Wilderness. Over the last few days good work has been accomplished and firefighters have been able to secure the spot fires outside the perimeter of the fire. Fire managers will continue with the original objective which include public and firefighter safety and keeping the fire within the timbered island where the fire started and keeping the fire out of the larger timber island located to the northeast. Hunters in the area may see smoke in the Holmes Cave area and remined to proceed with caution. The fire is still smoldering in some areas and may show little smoke.
