UPDATE: 7/23 10:55 am - The fire has been declared out at this time.
8:50 am - The fire was contained yesterday evening and controlled this morning. The hotshots are hiking off the hill and the remaining resources are continuing mopup and also backhaul of equipment off the hill.The Type I helicopter is no longer attached to the incident but is pre-positioned at the Pinedale Airport in the event it is needed.
7/22 8:48 am - No activity through the night and all containment lines held. There is minimal smoke on the fire. The 17 smokejumpers will be released from the fire at 11 am today. The type I hotshot crew will be held through the burning period today, then made available for other assignment. Estimate containment for later today or evening.
7/21 9:45 am - Crews completed a hand line around the fire which held overnight but there is still a fair amount of smoke. Firefighters will continue to mop up today with support from the K-Max Type 1 helicopter. Fire size is now estimated at 3 acres. All is going well. Forecast remains dry and sunny today with high temperature around 80. Wind will be light from the west again today, with eye level winds generally 5 to 7 mph. Relative humidity 22 - 25 percent.
7/20 7:05 pm - No new growth reported. Crews have completed saw line around the fire perimeter (hand line ongoing). There are 18 smokjumpers and a 20 person hotshot crew fighting this fire alongside local county and federal firefighters. The type 1 helicopter is doing good work with bucket drops.
7/20 11:57 am- The fire actively burned through the night and grew a half acre in size and is now two and a half acres. The fire is burning in heavy dead and down timber. Fire behavior is moderate at this time with some single tree torching. Resources on scene; 10 smokejumpers, 4 East Zone firefighters, 1 Sublette County firefighter, 3 helitack, 1 Type III helicopter, 1 Type 4 engine (support). Resources on order; 8 smokejumpers (Boise, ID), 1 Type I interagency hotshot crew (northern Utah), 1 Type I helicopter (northern Utah). These new resources are expected to arrive on the fire between 12 and 4 pm today.
7/19-This fire was reported in the North Fork Fisherman Creek area between Sour Moose and Slide Creek north of Rim Draw. Resources from Sublette County and Teton Interagency responded. Currently Engine 421, Helicopter 35HX, along with the Sublette County engines are on scene. A load of 8 smokejumpers were ordered from West Yellowstone MT and are now on scene to assist with suppression efforts.
