Daily Fire Danger Rating; Seasonal ERCs/BIs
The Energy Release Component (ERC) and Burning Index (BI) are updated daily for each station and Fire Danger Rating Area during the active fire season. These indices are generated through the FEMS system and are updated daily by Teton Interagency Dispatch in "Today's Fire Danger Indices" link (on home page and above). The ERCs and BIs for the entire TIDC area (GB-10, tabs on right) are representative averages of both FDRAs, but specific FDRA indices (averaging the selected indices for each FDRA) should be referred to when completing the worksheets for each FDRA. Fire Danger Adjective Rating Level
The TIF plan uses climatological breakpoints to determine adjective ratings. FEMS calculates Adjective Ratings using Staffing Level (SL) and Ignition Component (IC).

We graph NFDRS16 Y models to determine Preparedness, Staffing and Response Levels, and Fire Danger Rating. See Today’s Fire Danger Indices (by FDRAs) or the charts below for current ERC/BI graphs for specific RAWS sites in each FDRA zone.
